Inside the Lopez's Bratt Decor Nursery

Perhaps you caught the segment this week on Extra that featured the gorgeous neutral nursery for baby Dominic by Bratt Decor. But i case you missed, we caught up with the talented designer and Bratt Decor President, Mary Bauer, who designed the nursery for Mario & Courtney.“I had such a great time working with the Lovely Lopez’s the first time around, that going back was a bit like going home,“ says Mary Bauer. Once again, the Lopez’s decided not to find out the sex of the baby but Mrs. Lopez was sure about the look she wanted: glamour, sophistication and comfort. The result was a beautiful nursery in black, grays and white. The bold wall paper was softened filling the room by leaving some walls white and adding sumptuous white velvet bedding and window treatments. Also white was the round flokati rug, leather nursing chair and child sofa. Now that baby Dominic is here, the couple can add pops of blue to make the room decidedly boy. “It was a bit of a challenge, because the couple decided to use the same space that I did previously for Gia, for the new baby. So I had to find a way to completely redesign the usage and look of the room. The wallpaper really helped in changing the way the room felt. This time I decided to float the venetian four poster iron crib in the middle of the room and drop a beautiful black chandelier right in the middle of it. Next the crib was centered on a round, white shag rug, giving the space a center focal point.“ says Ms. Bauer. The black armoire paired with the black changing chests added to the storage of the space, which also has a nice size closet. Three windows flood the room with gorgeous natural light, so the overall affect was one of peaceful elegance.
