Entertainment mogul, Sean Diddy Combs celebrated the December arrival of his and long time girlfriend, Kim Porter's twin girls. The star studded shower was complete with some of the top names in music, fashion and entertainment, family, friends, and gifts galore! Two Bratt Decor Zanzibar Cradles were given to the couple by their designer Shalena Smith of Ga Ga Designs.

The golden cradles served as the centerpiece of the event and garnered oohs and ahhs from those present. Smith says "the cradles were Kim and Diddy's favorite gift item. They now sit in their master bedroom awaiting the twins' arrival. They absolutely love it!"

A very pregnant Kim even told Smith that the cradles were the most elegant thing she had ever seen. The Zanzibar Cradle is one of Bratt Decor's most popular items. Our wrought iron rocking cradle, complete with a locking mechanism, ensures a safe, cozy, and absolutely opulent sleeping

Today's Hip Grandparents Spoil They're Grandkids and Themselves

I think about this: Just by waking up, you can be someone's hero. How lucky can you be? Every kid loves their grandparents. It's yours to blow.

Baka, Deeda, Oji, Gunga, Leelee, Uma, Zayda and Wahoo share something beyond membership in the baby-talk hall of fame: These Americans are allergic to the terms 'Grandfather' and 'Grandmother.'

Those well-trod names have become too old. At least for the 39 million baby boomers who are now exploring the even more youthful world of Babies 'R' Us.

'The name thing is an issue,' observes Chris Crosby, publisher of Grand, a magazine for grandparents. 'We all grew up in a culture that put a negative connotation on the terminology we used. Like 'Don't be such an old grandma.' You think of this old person hunched over in a rocker with a bun on her head. This generation is anything but

Daine Farr returned from her June honeymoon in the Maldives with a special souvenier: a baby on the way! And it's a good thing: The star who plays FBI agent Megan Reeves on season two of the CBS hit Numb3rs, could hardly wait to start a family with her new hubby, marketing executive, Seung Chung. Seung got me an ovulation kit for Valentine's day, for months before we got married! Diane, 33, tells Life & Style.

Their baby boy is not due until March, but Diane, a former interior designer, already has the nursery finished, down to the last detail. Her favorite purchase? A metal crib. "It's antique gold and very simple, the most beautiful crib I've ever seen," says Diane. The angel cutout that rests behind it was a find at a yard sale 10 years ago.

As for the color scheme, the actress stayed away from the usual

Atlanta-based interior decorator Gretchen Edwards decorates hundreds of homes but when it came time for a very personal job she turned to Bratt Decor to make her decisions a little easier.

When it came time to decorate her first child's nursery, interior designer Gretchen Edwards had to deal with a hard to please client herself.

Atlanta-based interior designer Gretchen Edwards spends her days creating rooms for her clients to love. Making decorating decisions is routine business for her, but she wasnt so certain when it came time to create a nursery for hr own child. When you work with so many people with so many tastes, you end up being attracted to many styles and its hard to narrow down the choices, she says. It was more difficult to make a decision because I was worried that I'd come across a new idea or a new fabric that would wow

Numb3rs and former Rescue Me star Diane Farr furnished her entire nursery in Bratt Decor. Her first born is due to make his arrival in mid-March, but the mommy-to-be is well prepared having received all of her Bratt Decor furnishings the last week of September, and from what we've been told the nursery is beautiful!

Farr began looking for nursery furniture before there was a baby. Farr says that through her search she found nothing that came close to the beauty and peace of Bratt Decor.

Farr mixed and matched pieces from the hippest collection in baby, Bratt Decor. Like the true maverick she is she chose a burnished gold Venetian crib, accompanied with a Chelsea changer in espresso, and two accessory shelves from the Dick line, which she painted herself to match the espresso finish of the Chelsea.

We are proud to welcome Ms. Farr into the Bratt Decor family

Put any three girls in the same bedroom and you can expect territorial disputes, squabbles over toys, and identity crises. Wage peace with a pretty-in-pastel retreat that clearly gives each girl her domain.

For individuality each of these big, chunky beds is dressed slightly differently in a mix of florals, stripes, and ruffles. The look is unified with identical pink coverlets and floral shams.

Pink and flowers are certainly sweet, but this room is far from saccharine. The biggest jolt of color is the yellow that splashes the upper walls; pink plays only a supporting rolea cheerful solution for girls who are still growing and for busy parents who may lack the time to redo the room when the pink phase passes. Scallop-edged painted furnishings by Bratt Décor, coupled with accessories unearthed at antiques stores also lend a more mature look.

Fuction is important too. Hatboxes provide storage with style, while the

Many adjectives can apply to a nursery. Sweet, practical, efficient? Sure. Elegant, luxurious, indulgent? Not usually. But it's the latter group of descriptors that Shannon Jernigan wanted for the room of her son, Cole.

The lavish design started with soft green and blue polka-dot fabrics that the Birmingham, Alabama, homeowner found irresistible. For Shannon, the fact that they were silks not the thrown-in-the-washing-machine cottons typically found in nurseries only added to the appeal. I like things dressy, explains Shannon, who worked with designer Jenny Edwards on the room.

Dressy Cole's room is, swathed in silks that beautifully harmonize with the silvery sparkle of the baby cups, rattles, and picture frames that accessorize shelves. The Bratt Decor crib gains added stature with flowing panels draped over wooden rods attached to the wall. The Roman shade above the window seat has gentle folds and layers that play off the poufy style of

Versatility and multifunction have always been big in youth furniture. Lofts, under-bed drawers and trundle beds all make keeping a kid's room organized and user friendly an easier task. But the furniture in today's market goes beyond solving storage and space issues, offering a life span through college and beyond.

A MATURE SENSIBILITY

Youth Furniture manufacturers, keen on parent's tight purse strings, are introducing collections that easily transition through the years. Youth furnishings are built with a lot of versatility, says Jackie Hirschhaut, vice president of the American Home Furnishing Alliance (AHFA), High Point, N.C. I think what manufacturers are trying to do is come up with looks that are appealing to youngsters as well as teens, so that a parent can hopefully make a single investment and have it satisfy the child throughout that period.

At Broyhill Furniture Industries which recently launched a comprehensive children's line, Ready, Set, Grow

When decorating a nursery, do you style the child, or does the child style you? At first glance, this may seem a silly question. To be sure, your infant will have opinions of his or her own very soon. Right now, though, you call the shots and your sense of taste prevails. Doesn't it?

Maybe. Maybe not. It depends on how you view a newborn's role in the family. Is the baby an accessory to the parents' existing lifestyle, and so the nursery blends seamlessly into their home's overall decor? Or is parenthood a total upheaval of the status quo and so the infant should be celebrated with its own decor? Parents, interior decorators, retailers and furniture manufacturers line up on different sides of this debate, but all agree there's more at stake here than just pink, blue and Winnie the Pooh.

High-end infant furniture seems to typically fall into two vastly different categories. One category is composed of pieces constructed to fit in with the modern, high-design homes of many of today's young parents. These pieces often feature clean lines, a low profile and minimal fuss. But some parents desire nursery looks that remind them of days gone by, and the high-end designs profiled here fit the bill--cribs with tall posts, hand-painted designs, vintage patterns, intricate detailing. All these elements combine to offer classic, timeless looks that can be passed down ...
