CRIB SAFETY

Paramount in every parent’s mind when purchasing a crib, is safety. When it comes to making that decision, information is essential. Bratt Decor takes safety concerns seriously and has taken every precaution to ensure that our cribs are among the worlds safest.

Every Bratt Decor crib is tested by an independent testing facility to ensure that it meets or exceeds all standards as required by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and the standards of the ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials). Additionally, we do constant internal testing to ensure compliance to these standards.

To help ensure the safety of every child, and to encourage parents to be vigilant in the maintenance of their cribs, Bratt Decor is offering free hardware for the life of your crib. Simply contact the company and let them know what hardware you’ve lost, broken, or worn out, and Bratt Decor will send you replacement hardware for free! All you have to pay is the shipping!

No Crib Recalls:

Bratt Decor, Inc has never had a crib recall. Thank the Lord.

Stephen and Mary started this company with the good news that they were expecting their first child, and we never fail to consider that each crib holds a precious life. Safety is our first priority.

There have been millions of cribs recalled over the last two years due to drop gate issues. Although, Bratt Decor, Inc has never had a recall, we decided that it would be prudent to do away with drop side gates altogether, and officially switched all of our models from drop side to stationary gate in 2008. We feel the peace of mind is well worth the change.
Drop Side Solutions:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
CPSC BANS DROP-SIDE CRIBS.

December 15, 2010

Today the CPSC announced that in a unanimous vote, safety regulators agreed to ban the production and sale of all drop side cribs in the US. The ban goes into affect in about 6 months, or by June, said CPSC spokeswoman Patty Davis. Bratt Decor, always proactive with safety, stopped production of drop side gates in 2008. This decision was made, not due to any problems with Bratt Decor cribs, but rather after long term study of the industry and as a marketing decision. According to the CPSC all drop side gate cribs no longer meet safety standards.

Great Safety Tips:

Second-Hand Products: It is recommended second-hand products not be used for baby. Safety guidelines change as a result of new information and stricter guidelines, so a new crib meeting all current safety regulations is your safest bet. If you do choose to use an older model crib, make sure the product is fully functional, not broken, has no missing parts, has not been recalled, and is assembled using original instructions and proper hardware. Location, Location, Location: Do not place cribs near cords, draperies, long cords, or windows,.
