KEY FACTORS OF COMPANY'S CURRENT GROWTH
Growth is hard, a true blessing, but is constantly challenging. Over the past three years, the company has grown from a staff of about seven to more than 30, and dealing with the fallout of that alone has been an education. Additionally, Bratt Decor has opened offices in Asia and has had to learn to manage staff and
factories internationally. It requires lots of travel
Ali Landry literally burst onto the scene when she starred in a now-classic Doritos Super Bowl commercial and became instantly famous as the Doritos Girl. Ten years, innumerable career highlights and one adorable two-year-old daughter later, Ali has lost none of her energy or drive. In fact, she just launched Belle Parish, a childrens clothing line due out in Spring 2010.
Here, Ali gives us the scoop on her and her daughter Estelas Top 10 baby items:
1. Fave baby ride: Ive got four, a Bugaboo, a Chicco, a Jeep and a Silvercross. For the next baby, I would love to try an Uppa Baby stroller or an Orbit.
2. Fave crib: Bratt Decor. It is so gorgeous, I wish she could stay in it forever!
3. Fave sippy cup: The new Tilty sippy cup and Mabels Labels to make sure she doesnt lose it!
The customer was clearly in a dilemma when she walked through the shop's door.
What can one possibly purchase as a baby shower gift when the sex of the tiny newcomer is still unknown?
Debbie Melnikoff was quick with her answer.
The owner of Dream Baby Boutique on the Loudoun Street Pedestrian Mall in Winchester propelled her customer toward a wall covered with Loved Baby apparel -- a neutral-colored, mix-and-match clothing line for infants, whether they're made of either snips and snails, or sugar and spice.
Customers "love the 'Loved Baby' butt on the pants," Melnikoff said with a laugh, indicating miniature pairs of rompers with the logos emblazoned on the seats.
Another display features a menagerie of stuffed animals with fuzzy faces and in a variety of species, including ducks, giraffes, bears, frogs and, the most popular item, according to Melnikoff, an impish monkey. They are also available as teethers and are washable,
Why It's Cool: Halle Berry loved this elegant crib in espresso so much, she bought two -- one for each of her California homes in Malibu and the Hollywood Hills. Dancing with the Stars co-host Samantha Harris also purchased the classic piece for her baby girl Josselyn's nursery.
Where to Buy: The Bratt Decor Chelsea Sleigh Crib costs $1,452.
With Bachelor season in full swing, we thought we would catch up with the franchise’s most successful Bachelorette, Trista Sutter. Believe it or not, 17 seasons after it all began, Trista is still the only person to actually find a spouse on the show.
The biggest change I've noticed in the world over the last five years, would be the world wide awakening that has happened as far as our responsibility to this earth, and how we can evoke positive changes. I have to say, that I am thrilled with this new state of being. I am a nature lover, most peaceful in the mountains, and being half Lumbee Indian, I always felt a special connection to the earth, the forest, the rivers, the air . . . So, naturally I've tried to incorporate respect for the earth in all areas of my life, including my business. And, as more and more demand for eco friendly products emerge, so do the resources to create them. That is one of the reasons I love business, it will make available what we demand, and if our consciousness turns toward more responsible behavior,
Marcia Cross' twins Savannah and Eden Mahoney's nursery is completely decked out by Bratt Decor. Back in December, Bratt Decor's Mary Bauer flew to L.A., where she met with Marcia and her husband, Tom Mahoney. She worked with the famous couple to create a gorgeous nursery for babies Eden and Savannah.
Mary said, "Marcia was radiant, kind, and easy to work with and Tom was absolutely beaming! They are a beautiful couple, with a gorgeous nursery and it was a great pleasure to work with both of them."
Marcia and Tom chose the entire dick collection in white for a pure, classic look. The nursery walls are painted with Benjamin Moores Spring Lilac for the walls because Marcia wanted girly, but not too frilly. Window treatments in the same fabric as the bedding with delicate lilac pom poms to add a feminine flair. The dick crib in white is made up with
People takes a look at the blissfully happy Marcia Cross and her two gorgeous girls, Savannah and Eden. There's also a great shot of the fabulous nursery, designed by Mary Bauer of Bratt Decor and House, Inc's, Annette Tatum.

Take a peek inside "Numb3rs" star, Diane Farr's eclectic home. Great photo of the nursery.
LOS ANGELES--It's a warm spring morning when Diane Farr, 36, swings open the front door to her cozy 1920s Spanish-style bungalow. The actress is enjoying a rare day off from taping the hit CBS series Numb3rs and caring for her 5-week-old son, Beckett.
"It's pretty exhausting," she says, walking by a floor-to-ceiling arched window in the sunlit foyer of the three-bedroom, two-bath home. "I keep feeling like the adrenaline is going to run out at some point."
Luckily, Farr and her husband, Seung Chung, 36, a marketing executive, have had plenty of help with midnight feedings. "My family just came and left, and his parents came and left," she says with a hint of panic--the couple has yet to hire a nanny. "Now my mom is back because we're shooting the season finale for Numb3rs. (It airs
With her due date quickly approaching, and the probability of an early delivery looming, Hot Moms Club introduced Brooke Sheen to Amanda Moore and her interior design firm re:place to create a dream nursery for the beautiful twin boys that she and Charlie Sheen welcomed into the world this Spring.
The Sheen's stressed the priority of comfort to their design team at re:place, which started with the plush 100% natural wool wall-to-wall carpet that covers the entire nursery. Little crawling knees will be very grateful! Brooke and Charlie wanted the perfect pair of comfortable gliders, for bonding, feeding, and of course for watching ESPN highlights. They chose Serena & Lilys ultra comfortable and stylish Henry Gliders with matching ottomans. The nearby Bratt Decor Casablanca Daybed creates yet another space for kicking up ones feet for cuddle time. On the daybed is a mix of brown and blue Serena & Lily
Since the healthy delivery of daughter Blakesley Grace Sutter on April 3, former The Bachelorette stars Trista and Ryan have been overjoyed about their new addition. The family opened up its home to Life & Style recently to talk about the birth, adjusting to having a new baby in the house -- and the life-changing decision Trista and Ryan made about having more children.
L&S: When Max was born, you had to be put under general anesthesia to have an emergency C-section. How were things different this time around?
Trista: This birth was so much easier. Blakesley was born three weeks early, and I did have another C-section, but I didn't need general anesthesia. I just walked into the hospital and put my gown on, and then my doctor came in and said, "Okay, it's time." I didn't know you could just walk into the delivery room, because the last time, I

The USCA "Best of Local Business" Award Program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Mompreneur-- Local mom Mary Bauer began creating European-inspired infant furniture in 1995. Today, the company has blossomed into a multi-million dollar company with an international presence. Donna Hamilton and Stan Stoval talk to Bauer about balancing her life as mom, wife and CEO, her baby furniture designs, the latest trends and working with Hollywood's biggest stars.
Despite a few normal nerves - about baby naming, that little event called childbirth, and the ins and outs of breastfeeding - Ugly Betty's Ana Ortiz loves being pregnant. She even slowed for a few minutes to tell us exactly why....
She also gives an intimate look into her star studded baby shower and shares favorite gifts, one of them a Zanzibar rocking cradle by Bratt Decor.
When Mary Bauer was pregnant with her first child in 1995, she did what most new parents do--searched for the right nursery furniture. But for Mary and her husband, Stephen, that search proved futile.
"The face of juvenile furniture was very different," Mary said. "We were trying to find sophisticated, well-designed baby furniture. But it was either very high-end European or Babies "R" Us. There was nothing in between."
After finding nothing that suited their tastes, Stephen, who at the time was working as a commercial illustrator but has a background in furniture making in his native South Africa, designed a crib from scratch--a four-poster iron crib with ostrich feathers. The couple realized there were likely others parents out there that wanted the same level of sophistication and elegance for their nurseries, so the couple formed Bratt Decor. "We incorporated while I was still pregnant," Mary said.
If you're awaiting a visit from the fabled stork, join the club. There are more than 73 million moms or moms-to-be in the US today, ranging in age from teen years to 40-plus. While each and every one of them is going to need at least one crib, a changing table, and a rocking chair, the demand for baby goods doesn't stop there.
Grandparents also play a major role in spending and "are expected by 2010 to be 80 million strong and spending $35 billion per year on their grandchildren," says Lauren Estep, spokesperson for Young America, a furniture manufacturer based in Stanleytown, VA. The baby business is booming, and with it comes an endless array of options aimed at creating a child's room that is safe, functional, and fun.
When it comes to creating your first nursery, there are several must-have items every parent should consider, with a new crib topping
Everyone in the know, knows Kids Today is an industry standard for news from the kid world. We are so thrilled they highlighted one of our favorite retailers, Sugarplum Dreams this month. We love the photographs of the chelsea rocking cradle and casablanca premiere heirloom iron crib. The article highlighting the ABC Spring Conference was great, and we were so happy that they put the spotlight on our gorgeous little manhattan dresser, in sable. Oh, so rich!
