The Royal Nursery Bratt Decor

Spring 2013
Darling Duchess, the ever fabulous, Princess Kate Middleton, Bratt Decor has just the ticket for your royal nursery needs. Everyone knows that the former Kate Middleton is the style icon of her generation, and she’s both delighted and surprised us with her fashion choices. So, one has to wonder, what will the royal nursery look like? Surely, it will dazzle.

The child of Prince William and Kate will become the king or queen of England if the current monarch, Queen Elizabeth, ever passes away. Which is highly unlikely, but theoretically possible. So, you can be sure, this tiny royal will be surrounded with the best of everything to ensure a well balanced upbringing. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have many choices by which to outfit their nursery, and our bet is the baby’s room will be stylish, timeless, and completely original.

We’ve asked the team at Bratt Decor, haute designers of luxury nursery furnishings and interiors since 1995, to give us their best guess for what the Royal Nursery may look like. Owner, Mary Bauer put together the elegant room above. “Wills and Kate will most assuredly have a traditional English pram, as have all royals before, so we’ve added that to the space. And, like most modern parents to be, they most likely will not find out, or at least, not divulge the sex of the baby, so we designed a neutral nursery.

The palace itself is so ornate with such amazing architectural details, one need to be conservative when adding to the energy of the room. Choose furnishings that compliment a space like what you may find in a palace, not something that will fight with it. For example, a very modern look would absolutely not work. The classic four poster iron crib is both timeless and completely current, which sums up the Duchesses’ style perfectly. We opted for a simple silk, understated bedding set, and white dresser/changer and armoire. The overall look is dramatic, but definitely not over the top. Now, all we have to do is wait for their to call.
