Bratt Decor is a specialty store selling luxury beds for children.

This canopy bed from its Jane collection is, in fact, priced at about $1679 and is constructed using the finest solid wood. It's also quite a versatile one. Removing the canopy will reveal a standard four poster bed.

Dancing with the Stars co-host Samantha Harris recently opened up her pink and chocolate nursery to Life & Style magazine. "I think it's modern with a vintage edge and I couldn't be happier with it," she says. Harris welcomed her first child, daughter Josselyn Sydney, last month.

Harris chose the Chelsea sleigh crib in buttermilk by Bratt Decor for $1320. The Caden Lane Taylor collection ($450) bedding coordinated nicely with the custom-painted pink walls.

The girly nursery had accents of pink and chocolate heart frames.

Dancing with the Stars co-host Samantha Harris gives us a glimpse inside her 1-month-old daughter Josselyn's nursery. With the help of the designer company, Nursery Couture, the luxe furniture compant Bratt Decor, and the infant bedding company, Caden Lane, Harris created a regal nursery fit for her little princess.

"I love pink and chocolate together. I think it's a more sophisticated and modern take on traditional baby colors," says Harris.

Already the baby's room is becoming her favorite in the home. She says, "I think it's modern with a vintage edge, and I couldn't be happier with it."

The walls were custom painted a pretty pink and a mural artist brought in to create a focus wall over the crib. The tree itself is accented with rhinestones spelling out mom and dad's initials inside a heart.

The crib is the Chelsea model from Bratt Decor in buttermilk. Available for $1,320.

Think of a kid's room with a sea motif and you imagine the obvious: cute fish and billowing seaweed painted on the walls, a poster print or two of sailboats, a "Finding Nemo" bedspread.

But when it came to his own bedroom, 4-year-old Caden Ridenour got something out of the ordinary.

Because he's the fourth and youngest child in his family, his mom, Christa Ridenour, felt he deserved something special.
"He always got lots of leftovers and hand-me-downs," Ridenour reasoned.

She and her husband, Cary, decided to convert the office of their four-bedroom Foothills home into a fifth bedroom for Caden. Then, in search of some ideas, Christa paid a visit to one of her favorite Tucson stores.

Susan Luedtke, owner of The Stork's Nest of the Old Pueblo, a children's boutique, showed Ridenour some fish-themed bedding that seemed to capture Caden's personality.

"They're not your typical fish," Ridenour says of the design, which

One of the greenest things you can do is buy less stuff. Of course, that's easier said then done when the Incredible Growing Kid gets too big not only for his britches, but also for his bed. So instead of cribs, play tables, and storage that need to be replaced, we're featuring pieces that grow with your child--as well as design tips for repurposing old stuff and tricks for decorating to accommodate evolving interests. Whether you're setting up a nursery or a pretween's room, this approach is easy on the earth--and, in happy coincidence, on your wallet too.

The Mainstays

Bed: This old-fashioned-looking crib keeps up with the times by converting into a daybed (it can also be turned into a canopy crib and four-poster crib). Venetian 3-in-1 crib, $875, Bratt Decor, brattdecor.com.

The line includes two cribs-a four-post canopy version and a panel crib that can be completed with optional upholstered microsuede panels and bumpers. The cribs, $880 each, have stationary side rails and three adjustable mattress levels. They also convert to toddler and day beds.

Other pieces in the line include a convertible changer/dresser, armoire, storage cubby and wall shelves. Blu is offered in wheat and mocha finishes and the upholstered crib panels and bumpers come in sky, sand, fern, sunset and rose colors.

With modern nurseries all the rage, we have neglected the beautiful, more traditional furniture for your little ones. Bratt Decor is one of my favorite children's designer furniture lines. Ryan and Trista Sutter mix and matched Bratt Decor pieces for son Max's Nursery. They selected the Casablanca Premiere crib in pewter, the accompanying day bed, a pewter Zanzibar rocking cradle, and the Chelsea changer/dresser in buttermilk.

I adore the Chelsea Collection in espresso. I think the rich brown adds a touch of sophistication and balance to the delicate pastels common for baby bedding. Other finishes include antique silver and buttermilk. The sleigh crib ($1320) and double dresser ($1738) adds stunning elegance to any nursery. The detailed carvings (left) and hand rubbed finishes are only the begining of Bratt Decor quality. The crib changes into a toddler bed with the conversion kit ($253). You can purchase a changing tray ($132) that

New parents spend between $5,000 and $15,000 to decorate Baby's nursery, according to the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association, driving a $7.3 billion industry. That's a lot of money to spend on a room Junior can't enjoy until he's crawling.

Parents spend a lot of time in their new baby's room, which is why some parents consider their own decorating likes and dislikes when creating a nursery.

Sarah Horn, owner of SHA, said parents are looking for custom pieces to put in nurseries. "People are liking to create their own now, versus buying something off the shelf," she said. "Once somebody realizes they can really put their personal touch on it, they tend to like it."

Including Mom and Dad's personality in nursery decor gives the room a comfortable and personal feel. It also creates a space they enjoy spending time in-and they will be spending a lot of time in it.

What does it take to put together a fantastic nursery? It turns out you don't need a huge budget, interior designer pals or even a perfect space--just a little creativity and sense of what will work for your family. In fact, the whole process was a lot easier than P&N's very pregnant AMY BRAYFIELD expected it to be--which is a good thing, since she waited till pretty much the last possible minute to prep her own nursery.

Things to consider.....

Think furniture

You're going to need a crib and a storage center, but beyond that, think about what you and your baby will really need. Some moms can forego, say, a changing table completely, while other moms swear their changing table was an essential they couldn't live without.

When it comes to furniture, the key is to think about how you'll really use it. If it's important to you to be able to move

New In Town. Bratt Decor, the on-line, high-end infant and toddler furniture and accessory store favored by stars (Heidi Klum, Tori Spelling and Courtney Cox are customers), recently opened its first retil store in our area (another is in Baltimore). At the nearby location, near Tysons, the style is high. Find the basics: animal-shaped soaps, books, bedding, birth announcements and night lights (from $4.50 to $230), and the not-so-basics: Venetian iron cribs ($875), leather kiddie club chairs in pink and red ($180), tricked-out trikes ($249) and a vintage, pram-inspired doll carriage ($700). Our favorite fantasy find: the stunning Silver Cross pram with an equally stunning price tag ($4,000).

On July 27, 2007 the ex-Bachelorette Trista Sutter and her firefighter husband welcomed their first child, Maxwell Alston Sutter, into the world. But their two years of TTC were not completely smooth. Trista joined host Kim Hahn to candidly discuss her conception story, which includes nearly 100 pregnancy tests, a crucial time-saving tool for Trista, and the concession that just maybe it was time to consult a fertility expert . . . all culminating in what Trista says "was the happiest cry I've ever cried in my life.

Here's what Trista had to say about little Max's nursery!

"Its our favorite room in the house now! The furniture is beautiful, we got a wrought iron crib and daybed from Bratt Decor, and a beautiful buttermilk colored changing table."

"We also have their bassinet in our room, and that I'm just in love with! It matches alot of the furniture that
